Contact Us

The best way to find out about the club is to visit us and meet some members.

The club is open on Sundays during terms 4 and 1 from 8.30am until about 4pm.

Our club is run by volunteers, so if your query cannot answered by the frequently asked questions (FAQs) and you’ve had a good look through the website, then send us a message and we will get back to you, hopefully within a couple of days.

Pacer

Used for Discover Sailing the club’s Pacer dinghies are sailed by an instructor to give children an introductory sailing experience. They can also be sailed by two adults and are used for our adult learn to sail courses. The club owns a fleet of six Pacers.

Pittwater Juniors (PJs)

With their simple rigs and self draining cockpits these boats are fantastic when children are learning the fundamentals of sailing. The club owns a fleet of seven PJs that we use for our Start Sailing 1 course. The kids love them!

Sabot

After completing Start Sailing 1 we encourage families to buy or rent a Sabot. Sabots are a single sail boat for children aged 7-16. Children often sail them 2-Up (one skipper, one crew) for their first couple of seasons. From 12 onwards they must be sailed 1-Up.

The Sabot Association is very active, hosting regattas and training events to up-skill sailors. These are often held at the beginning of the season and have experienced coaches, giving sailors an opportunity to extend their skills.

Flying Eleven

These exciting boats are sailed two handed, usually by children over 12 years old.

The Flying 11 association holds regattas and training weekends that are very well attended often with 90-100 boats at the start lines.

Cherub

The Cherub is a high performance 12 foot skiff, part of the extreme sailing family that includes 16 & 18 footers. At VA12SC, the Cherub is the next step for our junior sailors after the electric Flying 11. The class has seen a resurgence in recent years with skilful and sociable racing an attraction to school-leaving sailors wanting competition and fun.
